Jan 26, 2022 at 4:37 PMAGILOX is restructuring its leadership. Helmut Schmid will take over as CEO starting January 2022, succeeding the previous CEO Franz Humer. Schmid will continue the company’s established strategy to further expand the global market share of the AMR manufacturer. As the sole managing director of AGILOX, he is also expanding the management team with three new authorized signatories: Josef Baumann-Rott, Klaus Pucher, and Robert Mayer.
(Neukirchen bei Lambach) Helmut Schmid, long-time head of Germany and Western Europe at the cobot market leader Universal Robots, is taking over the management of AGILOX. With Schmid, an internationally experienced manager and robotics enthusiast is driving the further expansion of the company. Most recently, he served as managing director at the German cobot pioneer Franka Emika GmbH in Munich.
Helmut Schmid is a specialist in growth strategies, business development, change management, internationalization, sales, and marketing. Throughout his long career, he has founded and profitably managed several companies, particularly implementing scalable business models, often developing new sales processes and structures, and successfully executing new go-to-market strategies. As a co-founder of the German Robotics Association e.V. and Robotics Ventures GmbH, the trained aerospace engineer has made a name for himself. Now, the new CEO of AGILOX aims to drive the company’s further development and internationalization. “AGILOX is a brand with a strong foundation and equally high market potential. I look forward to bringing my experience to the company to continue its profitable development and position it sustainably in the market,” says Schmid.
Implementing Growth Plans
“Due to his many years of experience in the robotics sector, Helmut Schmid brings both solid technical and management expertise to further develop AGILOX as CEO based on the excellent starting position and to support our growth plans towards becoming the world’s leading AMR provider,” says Dr. Thorsten Dippel, Managing Director of the Carlyle Group, which has been a strong partner of AGILOX since June 2021. Daniel Haider, managing director of Raiffeisen Invest Holding GmbH & Co KG, also highlights the new CEO’s international industry experience: “We are very pleased that AGILOX has gained the trust of a renowned robotics expert. With Helmut Schmid as the new CEO, we will continue to pursue dynamic growth on an international level.”
Continuing the Forward Strategy
The former CEO of the company, Franz Humer, is also looking forward to the new leadership: “It was particularly important to us founders that the new CEO continues AGILOX’s successfully established forward strategy and carries our brand DNA forward. With Helmut Schmid, AGILOX is getting a CEO who will progressively develop the company and set the final course towards the future.” Schmid is also looking forward to the new challenge: “I am excited to continue the good groundwork with the entire team and to be able to co-write the success story of AGILOX from now on. Internationalization and the further expansion of the headquarters in Neukirchen bei Lambach are just a few of the focal points I am very much looking forward to.” Franz Humer will transition to the board of AGILOX as Executive Chairman and will strategically prepare the next steps for the company—particularly in product development and establishing a presence in the USA. Dirk Erlacher will move to China and will build the Asian market from Shanghai.
