JCL appoints Axel Hinz as CEO and Christof Marx as COO

The international logistics service provider JCL Logistics has appointed Axel Hinz, previously CEO Air & Ocean, as Group CEO. Christof Marx, who was previously CEO Road & Rail, has been appointed Group COO. Both positions are new in the organizational structure of JCL Logistics. Hinz will also continue to lead the Air & Ocean and B2C divisions.

(Baar) As Group CEO, Axel Hinz will further advance the holistic, long-term strategy of JCL Logistics and focus on sustainable value creation. He will continue to work closely with the Board of Directors and the Foundation Board. Additionally, Axel Hinz will still oversee the business areas of Air & Ocean and B2C.

As an industry expert with over 30 years of logistics experience, Axel Hinz joined the JCL Group in 2020. Prior to that, he held senior positions at leading European logistics companies, including the Rhenus Group and the Geis Group.

Christof Marx, as Group COO, is responsible for the company’s central operational processes. At the same time, he continues to lead the Road & Rail and contract logistics divisions. Christof Marx has been part of the JCL Group since 2019 and has over 30 years of industry experience. Previously, he worked in strategic and operational leadership positions at companies such as Gefco and Imperial.

Ensuring stable leadership continuity

Regarding the change in leadership, Stephan Jöbstl states: “We are very pleased that we can expand the roles and responsibilities of Axel and Christof.
