6 River Systems Sees Great Potential for Logistics Robots
Jan 12, 2022 at 6:28 PMArvato Supply Chain Solutions collaborates with the fashion and lifestyle brand GUESS. For the new client, the internationally operating supply chain and e-commerce service provider will take over the handling of online business in Poland. Comprehensive logistics services will be provided at the location in Jasin near Poznań. There, Arvato operates a distribution center in the logistics park of the CLIP Group.
Diversification, efficiency, and a seamless shopping experience for the customer are particularly important to GUESS. The new distribution center is a key factor in achieving these goals. The opening of the e-commerce center is the result of exemplary cooperation and teamwork between Arvato Supply Chain Solutions and GUESS, which was achieved despite the unpredictable pandemic situation during the project’s development phase. GUESS is proud to announce that the new distribution center will complete the planned logistical footprint for 2021. “This strengthens the omnichannel service in Northeast Europe and secures distribution capacity for the coming years,” says Marcello De Melgazzi, European Logistics Director at GUESS.
Among the extensive services that Arvato provides at the logistics center for GUESS are goods receipt, warehousing, order picking and packaging, returns management, as well as value-added services for a range of products such as clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories. All processes are based on Arvato’s WMS SAP IT system, which is tailored to the customer’s requirements, and on the warehouse infrastructure designed, acquired, and installed by Arvato Supply Chain Solutions.
Smooth Start of Operations
“We are very pleased that another international brand from the fashion industry, which is dynamically developing its online business, has decided to diversify its logistics activities and entrust us with these services in this demanding sector,” explains Lidia Ratajczak-Kluck, Managing Director at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Poland. The business and project-related negotiations, as well as the project start itself, took place under very difficult conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Through the use of modern communication methods, adherence to safety rules, and above all thanks to an experienced team, a smooth start of operational activities was made possible.”
