With another order from Bergzeit GmbH, Alt FineCom Finishing-eCommerce-Logistics GmbH has combined the existing returns and the new shipping logistics in Deggendorf. The online retailer in the outdoor and mountain sports sector occupies half of the logistics area.
(Deggendorf) After a year of collaboration with Bergzeit, FineCom has additionally taken over the shipping logistics for shoes and established a new location in Deggendorf for this purpose. By the end of the year, the relocation of the returns management for accessories and textiles from Plattling has been completed. This means that Bergzeit occupies about half of the 11,000 m² large hall in Deggendorf.
The former building of TWD Fibres GmbH was equipped with 2,000 linear meters of shelving and 300 pallet rack spaces. Three weeks after the handover of keys, it went into operation in August 2021 with digitized processes. Today, an average of 34,500 items per month pass through the incoming goods for Bergzeit, and 40,000 orders with 60,000 items go through the outgoing goods. Additionally, there are 60 swap containers full of returns each month.
The in-house clothing clinic, staffed by textile-experienced employees who assess complaints, remove stains, and repair damages, has convinced the customer. After finishing, the goods are returned to Bergzeit’s warehouse cleaned, steamed or ironed, and ready for shipping. “FineCom works as carefully as a traditional company in the textile industry and as flexibly as a startup when it comes to logistics and IT processes. This meets our demand for sustainable processes, especially in the refurbishment of goods,” says Markus Zabel, Managing Director at Bergzeit.
Quickly Established Efficient Fulfillment Capacities
With Deggendorf, Passau, and Mühlheim an der Ruhr, FineCom has opened three new locations in one year and expanded the areas by 45,000 m². “We quickly build efficient fulfillment capacities and provide our customers with room for further growth,” says FineCom Managing Director Franz S. Alt. “Our resource-efficient value-added services for fulfillment and returns management are in high demand due to staff and space shortages.”
