Nov 29, 2021 at 2:22 PMThe global full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics announces its collaboration in the field of contract logistics with the leading manufacturer, installer, and service provider of wind turbines, Vestas. As part of the cooperation, Hellmann takes over Vestas’ distribution center for spare parts in North America. From the newly built 130,000 square meter warehouse in Houston, Hellmann manages the supply of spare parts and components for both existing and new Vestas wind farms in the USA and Canada.
(Osnabrück/Houston) The contract is characterized by a high degree of complexity, as the stored goods range from small parts, such as electronic components, to hazardous materials like batteries and lubricants, as well as large turbine components. Hellmann’s service offering also includes a wide range – from inventory management to packaging and load consolidation to order picking for outgoing shipments and their dispatch.
“Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is an important player in the supply chain of Vestas America Wind Technology and supports our service supply chain,” says Scott Benedetti, Head of Supply Chain Operations of Vestas North America. “Since the beginning of our collaboration, the company has proven to be a strong partner that shares our goals regarding safety, collaboration, costs, and performance.”
