Nov 19, 2021 at 7:08 PMCreating Synergies for New Perspectives – Flexus AG and SAFELOG GmbH will cooperate in the future to further optimize and advance the intralogistical processes of their customers. The AGVs (automated guided vehicles) from Safelog will be integrated into the Flexus AGV control system in SAP via plug&play.
(Pressebox; Würzburg/Markt Schwaben) Over the past 25 years, Würzburg-based Flexus AG has specialized in optimizing intralogistical processes. As an SAP Silver Partner, Flexus offers extensive software products, certified SAP add-ons, and consulting services. These are based on long-standing experience in mobile data collection and the implementation of forklift and transport control systems.
“With the transport control system, we have established a strong product in the market that continuously optimizes the intralogistics of our customers. By expanding with the AGV control system for automated guided vehicles, we provide a comprehensive platform for the flexible control of all vehicles, including traffic, battery, and fleet management directly in SAP,” explains Tobias Heubeck, Head of Sales & Marketing, Flexus AG.
For a quick, smooth, and secure implementation of automated guided vehicles in your intralogistics, SAFELOG and Flexus now offer a standard solution for SAP integration and SAFELOG connection based on VDA 5050.
SAFELOG GmbH specializes in the development and intelligent linking of innovative intralogistics solutions. A central component of the portfolio is the AGV product family, which is equipped with highly flexible, agent-based software. Thanks to extensive expertise in both hardware and software, SAFELOG realizes comprehensive intralogistics solutions for a variety of different applications.
Optimization of Trips
The AGV Connect package enables direct connection and optimization of trips from SAP. Depending on the integration package used, orders can be handed over, or topics such as disruption management, map management, and comprehensive optimization, such as hybrid traffic with forklifts, trains, and AGVs, can be coordinated directly from SAP. The entire material flow can thus be transparently represented in SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA.
“Many intralogistics processes can be optimized through the interplay between conventional industrial trucks like forklifts or trains and automated guided vehicles. The implementation of all process participants into a higher-level control is the basis for coordinating various devices and allows for real-time monitoring of device utilization or flexible route planning,” explains Maximilian Kalk, Project Manager, SAFELOG GmbH. “The FLEXUS transport control system integrates our AGVs into an SAP environment based on the VDA 5050 interface. The possibilities that arise from this mean a significant added value for our customers in terms of flexibility and process optimization.”
Cooperation of Hardware and Software
With these unique features, Flexus and SAFELOG offer an optimal solution for SAP intralogistics. This optimization of intralogistical processes through the cooperation of SAFELOG hardware and Flexus software is particularly interesting for those companies that already use SAP ERP or S/4HANA and wish to integrate automated guided vehicles into their intralogistics.
