Nov 15, 2021 at 7:40 PM(Tegernsee/Bor) LOXXESS AG, a medium-sized logistics company specializing in complex logistics and value-added services, is expanding its storage and logistics areas at the multi-user campus CTPark Bor near the German-Czech border. The new warehouse has more than 68,000 m2 of space. The existing logistics area will thus be expanded to 145,000 m2. The new areas are scheduled to be operational in the third quarter of 2022.
LOXXESS is already represented at two locations in CTPark Bor and is active for several clients such as dm-drogerie markt, HD+, Penny, PYUR, Rewe, Vodafone, ZooRoyal, and Weinfreunde. The driver of the expansion is the e-commerce logistics for the drugstore company dm-drogerie markt, which has been in the hands of LOXXESS since 2017. LOXXESS has been offering specialized service concepts for online retail since 2006. With the development of the concept “SMILE – Smart and Innovative: Logistics for E-Commerce,” the logistics company deepened its activities and reached a finalist position for the German Logistics Award in 2019. In 2020, SMILE was awarded the European Logistics Award by the European Logistics Association ELA.
dm Managing Director Christian Bodi, responsible for logistics, welcomes the good progress of the expansion work: “With the new areas, we can meet the high and growing demand for our online offerings and at the same time respond even better to the wishes and needs of our customers. With LOXXESS, we have a reliable partner by our side who proactively supports our growth with innovative approaches.”
Investment in Picking Processes
LOXXESS is also further developing the award-winning “SMILE” concept in the new hall and is investing approximately 50 million euros in intralogistics systems such as automation solutions for picking processes.
“With the expansion of our services in CTPark Bor, we are responding to our successful activities in the field of e-commerce logistics and simultaneously creating important resources for the development of our customer,” says Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger, Board Member of LOXXESS AG. “Even before the Corona crisis, online retail was booming, and during the pandemic, it was able to record further growth and is now an indispensable part of the modern retail landscape. With the strategic expansion at our multi-user campus, we will be even better positioned to meet this development in the future.”
