The two were honored at the prestigious 6th Charity Gala at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne. In the presence of around 300 guests, Daniel Hauser (Roland Brack) and Paul Kurrus (Walter Mittelholzer) were the presenters for the honorees.

At the 6th Charity Gala of the Swiss Supply Chain Hall of Fame on September 22, 2021, at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne, Roland Brack, Swiss e-commerce pioneer and the most successful independent online retailer, was ceremoniously inducted as the 14th member in the presence of over 300 guests. The presenter, Daniel Hauser, Managing Director of Kardex, honored the modest Roland Brack as a person who understood how to innovatively, successfully, and sustainably leverage logistics and supply chain as a strategic success factor for his customers and suppliers.

Aviation and Air Freight Pioneer Walter Mittelholzer (1894 – 1937)
Paul Kurrus, former national councilor and honorary president of Aerosuisse, the presenter for Walter Mittelholzer, who was inducted posthumously as the 13th member, honored the Swiss aviation pioneer. Mittelholzer was a co-founder of Swissair, a photographer, pilot, and travel writer. Kurrus highlighted the adventurous conditions of the first real passenger flight in 1921 with five passengers in the Junkers F-13, which at that time had no passenger cabin or seating. The award was accepted by his grandson Thomas Mittelholzer, who never had the chance to meet his grandfather.

Gala Proceeds for the Initiative “Experience Logistics”
The organizer “Foundation Logistics Switzerland” has allocated this year’s gala proceeds to the initiative “Experience Logistics” at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne. This exhibition – supported by 80 associations and partner companies – presents the topics of “logistics, goods traffic, and supply chain” with a focus exhibition, attractions, and events that can be experienced in various ways.
