Sep 3, 2021 at 7:00 PMThe board of the European Pallet Association (EPAL) has appointed Bernd Dörre as Managing Director of EPAL. He succeeds Christian Kühnhold, who led EPAL until March 31, 2021. Dörre has been involved with EPAL in various roles since 1997. During this time, the EPAL pool has grown to become the largest pallet exchange pool in the world.
(PressBox/Düsseldorf) The board of EPAL has appointed Bernd Dörre as Managing Director of EPAL. Dörre has been accompanying the development of EPAL for more than 20 years. During this time, the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool has become the largest open pallet exchange pool in the world. Initially, he worked as a lawyer for EPAL since 1997, before supporting the board and management of EPAL as a consultant since 2009.
“Bernd Dörre is excellently familiar with the pallet market and all the requirements of the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool. He has competently advised the EPAL board in recent years and led important projects of EPAL,” explains Robert Holliger, the President of EPAL.
At the center of Bernd Dörre’s work will be the further expansion of the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool as an indispensable part of sustainable storage and transport logistics, as well as the next step towards the digitalization of the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool.
EPAL turns thirty
“EPAL is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. For just as long, EPAL and the national associations of EPAL have stood for an environmentally and climate-friendly use of high-quality and exchangeable EPAL pallets. In the coming years, we want to further enhance the significance of the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool for achieving the sustainability goals of users and make the EPAL Euro Pallet Pool even simpler, more effective, and better for trade, industry, and logistics,” explains Bernd Dörre.
Bernd Dörre is 54 years old, married, and the father of two children. He has an interest in art and enjoys visiting galleries, museums, and exhibitions.
