Berger Group Moves to New Building in Korntal-Münchingen

The industry specialist in operational equipment and shelving technology, the Berger Group, is moving within Korntal-Münchingen to a location that is more than twice the size. The new facility is easily accessible via the A81 motorway and the B10 federal road. Suppliers, business partners, customers, and employees will benefit from this forward-looking investment.

(Korntal-Münchingen) The office space designed according to the open-space concept increases to 500 sqm, while the storage area even grows to 5,500 sqm. This not only addresses the current business development but also consolidates Berger’s inventory of goods, supplies, and spare parts in one location. This results in energy savings for electricity and heating as well as internal transportation. An additional environmental benefit comes from the LED lighting used throughout the building.

For visitors and employees, 50 parking spaces are now available. Deliveries, pickups, and the company’s own truck loading can be handled simultaneously at 4 ramps and 5 ground-level gates. Additionally, Berger invested in a new Artus pallet racking system with seismic bracing for the storage equipment, ensuring significantly higher stability.

Reducing Delivery Times and Increasing Customer Service

To achieve the most efficient work organization, all processes between order entry and delivery have been digitized. This is supported by a new IT infrastructure and software systems for order processing, paperless picking, and a new warehouse management system. Throughout logistics, employees are supported by mobile data terminals. This step also reduces potential sources of error and delivery times.

The workstations in the office and at the assembly stations in the warehouse have been designed with ergonomic considerations. For a relaxed break experience, social rooms and various lounge areas are available. Another factor in retaining the mostly long-term and experienced employees is the company’s continued presence in the established catchment area of Stuttgart.
