Aug 25, 2021 at 6:21 PMIn order to successfully implement its projects in the field of hydrogen technology, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) will actively participate in the newly founded H2Global Foundation. Angela Titzrath, CEO of HHLA, was also elected as the deputy chair of the foundation’s board.
(Hamburg) “We want to be part of this foundation from the very beginning to contribute our expertise, but also to learn from the experiences of others,” explained Angela Titzrath on the occasion of the foundation’s establishment. The HHLA CEO was elected as the deputy chair of the foundation’s board during an online election. “I am pleased with the trust of the foundation’s members.” HHLA is already intensively exploring the possibilities that green hydrogen offers for achieving its climate goals. “We want to contribute with our activities to the development of the Port of Hamburg into a hub for hydrogen distribution,” said Titzrath.
Green hydrogen will be funded with 20 to 30 billion euros
Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, called the establishment of the foundation a “truly historic project” and added that “Germany must become a global leader in hydrogen technology if we want to achieve our sustainability goals.” The development of green hydrogen is to be supported in Germany with a total volume of 20 to 30 billion euros.
The H2Global Foundation brings together numerous stakeholders who wish to contribute to the economic market launch of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The foundation is to implement a specially developed funding concept.
