Aug 16, 2021 at 6:19 PMThe Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs, Federal Councillor, and Federal President Guy Parmelin visited the operations of Galliker Transport in Altishofen last Friday. It was important for him to re-establish contact with the economy and feel its pulse after a long period of limited opportunities due to the pandemic, said Federal President Guy Parmelin.
(Altishofen) In response to a question about the impact of the pandemic on the transport and logistics sector, the Federal President was informed that there were sectors that had to endure a greater loss of order volume, such as international freight transport or car logistics, which is still suffering due to the semiconductor crisis. However, there were also sectors that were able to increase their order volume during the lockdown measures, such as food and healthcare logistics.

During his tour of the company premises in Altishofen, Parmelin gained insight into the diverse transport and logistics services offered by Galliker. He was particularly impressed by the efforts of the transport company Galliker in the area of sustainability, which are being implemented in concrete actions as part of Galliker Green Logistics. As the head of the Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (WBF), he also praised the significant commitment of the Galliker Campus in the field of training.
