Aug 10, 2021 at 3:01 PMThe Nagel Group is now entrusting its stress factors to DextraData GmbH. The agreement includes project management, strategic consulting, implementation, and operation of IT services, such as the data center. It is valid for five and a half years. The common goal of the partnership is to significantly support the digitalization of the Nagel Group.
(Press release; Essen) The Nagel Group, one of the leading food logistics companies in Europe, is pursuing a comprehensive digitalization strategy. A partial goal of the strategy is to be able to map business processes in the long term as cloud services. The decisive factor for the partnership with DextraData was the intention to replace the existing legacy applications at Nagel Group, the Transport Management System (TMS) and the Warehouse Management System (WMS), with the in-house developed CAL Suite. In this context, the logistics company from Westphalia relied on the consulting, analysis, and managed services expertise of DextraData GmbH to advance the technical prerequisites for the introduction of CAL Suite, the supply chain platform of the Nagel Group.
Logistics Feels Groundbreaking Changes
“Cloud computing, blockchain, or artificial intelligence – the world is becoming more digital and interconnected. Especially our industry, logistics, is already feeling the groundbreaking changes that come with new technologies. According to our digitalization strategy, we are driving projects that address these trends and make our organization future-proof,” says Michael Lütjann, CIO – Chief Information Officer of the Nagel Group. “The partnership with DextraData is an important building block on this path. The joint project is progressing smoothly. We are working together trustfully and successfully at all levels.”
“I am very pleased with the trust that the Nagel Group places in us, our expertise in operating hybrid data center and cloud infrastructures, and modern application architectures. With our ITFM solution CIO Cockpit, we enable the Nagel Group to always have the same accurate view of digital resources as we do as responsible operators,” explains Shayan Faghfouri, Managing Director of DextraData GmbH.
IT as a Value-Adding Instance
With the CIO Cockpit, the CIO has access to a status quo of the IT data center infrastructure based on precisely prepared and always up-to-date company data. It can also examine scenarios and thus create qualified future forecasts. For example, how the resource demand planning in the IT data centers – in relation to growth paths and new business requirements – should look. From this, he can derive actions, measures, decisions, and investment strategies.
