The acquisition is from the OTL Group and is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. C. Hartwig is one of the leading companies in Poland.
(Holzwickede) With this acquisition, Rhenus strengthens its global Air & Ocean network and expands its position in Eastern Europe. Nine Polish locations in Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz, Wroclaw, Poznan, Gdansk, Szczecin, Katowice, and Koroszczyn, as well as three locations in Hamburg, Felixstowe, and New York, complement the existing network of Rhenus locations in Poland, Germany, the UK, and the USA.
“With C. Hartwig, we can not only meaningfully complement the existing network but also open up new markets with new locations,” emphasizes Tobias Bartz, member of the Rhenus Executive Board. “Especially in the area of sea freight, we expect a significant strengthening of our transports,” adds Tobias Bartz.
Acquisition Expected to be Completed in October 2021
C. Hartwig is one of the leading companies in the Polish transport, freight forwarding, and logistics market, with a focus on sea and air freight as well as land transport. In addition, C. Hartwig is also active internationally and offers its customers and clients solutions for multimodal transport, warehousing, and project logistics.
With this acquisition, Rhenus once again demonstrates the importance of the Eastern European markets and underscores its willingness to engage in new markets with this investment during economically challenging times.
The acquisition still requires the approval of the supervisory board of the OTL Group and the approval of the antitrust authorities. Once these conditions are met, the acquisition is expected to be completed in October 2021.
