Jul 15, 2021 at 4:28 PMDVF welcomes Hupac Intermodal SA as a new member
Jul 15, 2021 at 4:54 PMWith the acquisition of a neighboring property, Interroll has created the conditions for a significant expansion of its product portfolio at the location in Baal-Hückelhoven near Düsseldorf. The new property, which already houses an industrial building, covers a total area of almost 13,000 square meters.
(Sant’Antonino/Baal) As early as 2022, Interroll will introduce a new platform for hygienic food processing and logistics from here and will continue to expand it in the coming years. “The expansion, which increases our production area at the site by around 40%, will be operational in the third quarter of 2022. This creates the conditions for the introduction of innovative conveyor solutions that are specifically designed for use in hygienically demanding environments, such as food processing,” says Hauke Tiedemann, Head of the Global Competence Center for Drum Motors in Baal. “This enables our customers in this important area to achieve further productivity increases while improving hygiene in their material flow.”
By 2025, 60 new jobs are to be created
In recent years, Interroll has gradually invested around 20 million euros in the Baal-Hückelhoven location. The Innovation Projects and Development Center (IPDC) of the group, as well as the Interroll Academy, which is responsible for internal and external training measures, are also based there. Currently, around 240 employees work in Baal. By no later than 2025, the expansion of the site and the strengthening of expertise for customers in the food industry is expected to result in an increase of around 60 jobs. “With this investment in one of our most important locations, we are once again confirming our long-term growth strategy, with which we will meet our customers’ demand for existing and new solutions in the coming years. As part of this growth strategy, new plants have recently been commissioned in the Heilbronn/Heidelberg area as well as in Georgia, USA. In addition, a new plant will also be opened in China next year,” says Jens Strüwing, Executive Vice President Products & Technology and member of the Executive Board.
