Jul 5, 2021 at 5:57 PMWith the slogan ‘Send it green’, PIN AG promotes its deliveries in Berlin. ‘Sustainable and flexible’, the young Berlin logistics company Urban Cargo operates. Both companies are connected by the environmentally friendly and timely distribution of their shipments to customers using the micro vehicle type Paxster. Of the 2,500 Paxsters worldwide, 20 are now on the road in the Berlin metropolitan area.
(Berlin/Dresden) ‘In Berlin, we rely on emission-free vehicles tailored to the specific requirements of letter and goods logistics, which are very easy to handle and safe for our employees. The Paxster is a true benchmark and also a cute eye-catcher!’ explains Bernd Fricke, board member of PIN AG.
Additionally, thanks to the use of electric vehicles, standard shipments, registered mail, book and goods shipments can be sent nationwide 100% CO2-neutral with PIN AG.
‘Paxsters are a sensible addition to our fleet due to their high reliability, mature technology, and practical weather protection!’ says Roland Prejawa, managing director of Urban Cargo, Berlin. Furthermore, drivers appreciate not only the optimal loading capacity but also the agility of the micro vehicles. As a ‘white-label’ logistics service provider, Urban Cargo exclusively relies on innovative, attractive, CO₂-free transport means such as light vehicles and cargo bikes.
More and More Electric Vehicles on the Last Mile
In Germany, Paxsters are distributed by oekoflitzer.de, and more and more companies are now using these electric vehicles for last-mile delivery or in their intralogistics. In urban logistics, the focus is currently on efficiency. Through various research projects and daily operations, the Ökoflitzer have shown that the Paxster is up to 12% faster in delivery areas with sparse development, thus saving delivery time. The vehicles also impress with low maintenance costs, as wear-prone components, such as clutches, exhaust systems, or door hinges, are not present in the Paxster.
Easy Battery Charging
Charging the vehicle battery is also simple with the Paxster, as the battery can be charged at a standard 230 V socket, eliminating the need for costly charging stations. ‘The reliability of the battery particularly impressed us during the extremely cold February days we experienced recently,’ says Roland Prejawa. To utilize the maximum range of 100 km, approximately 8-10 kWh is needed to fully charge the battery, which in turn results in low operating costs. Bernd Fricke adds that the first two Paxster units have been in operation at PIN AG since the end of 2016 and have been performing their duties flawlessly to this day.
Service, maintenance, and other work on the Paxster are carried out as on-site service directly at the customer’s location.
