The result is a simple and transparent ordering process for comprehensive shipping options. The entire process was designed from the customer’s perspective.
(Weinheim) With tof.now, the express service trans-o-flex launched an online booking system in June that will significantly simplify and accelerate express shipping for both existing and new customers. “We have completely redesigned and structured the entire booking process from the customer’s perspective,” explains trans-o-flex CEO Wolfgang P. Albeck. “In many cases, it now only takes two clicks to order an express shipment online: click on the shipping order and confirm the order. That’s it!”
What sounds easy was a “great challenge,” says Albeck, “because the complexity of an express order is enormous when you don’t just want to offer customers a standard product, but give them the choice to tailor a 100% fitting, individual offer from numerous options and combinations.” Since there was no suitable application on the market for these requirements, trans-o-flex IT service developed the new system together with web designers and logistics professionals.
Fast and transparent ordering process
The ordering process at tof.now is based on the following fundamental principle: The customer clicks on what they want, after which the system shows how trans-o-flex can fulfill the request. Up to the finished shopping cart, tof.now automatically considers which product combinations are possible and which exclude each other. At the same time, the process chain is designed so that all necessary information for the chosen shipping options is automatically provided. During the ordering process, the so-called trans-o-flex Disc shows at any time what the next ordering step looks like, where one currently is in the ordering process, and what the price is for the currently selected product variant.
Every interested party can either register or ship as a guest. As a guest, the information is only stored for processing the respective order and then deleted. Those who choose to register receive lower prices, which are automatically adjusted to the shipping volume, as well as additional shipping options and more comfort for their orders. The shopping cart is automatically saved for 14 days, even if the user closes their browser.
From booking system to online shop for customers
The idea behind the new booking system tof.now is to radically rethink shipping processes from the customer’s perspective, possibly renewing them or setting them up completely anew. Therefore, the new solution is not only about the spontaneous shipping of individual packages or smaller quantities, for which tof.now was originally designed. The intuitive ordering platform is rather an essential component of a 100% customer-oriented online shop for transports. Such a seamless shipping solution is also attractive for regular customers, as collaboration with trans-o-flex becomes even faster and more efficient. CEO Albeck concludes: “Our goal with tof.now is to offer the simplest shipping system available in the express and logistics market, which simultaneously has the highest product variety.”
