Jun 18, 2021 at 12:29 PMAfter more than ten successful years at the helm of Scandlines, Søren Poulsgaard Jensen has informed the Supervisory Board that the time has come for him to pass the baton. The Supervisory Board has appointed Carsten Nørland, Senior Vice President International at the brewery Royal Unibrew, as the successor to Søren Poulsgaard Jensen as CEO.
(Copenhagen/Hamburg) “Søren Poulsgaard Jensen has done an excellent job and has positioned Scandlines strongly for the future as a green and competitive supplier of critical infrastructure connecting Europe and Scandinavia. Carsten Nørland will bring exactly the right economic and international skills and experience to continue the good results in the coming years, up to and not least after the opening of the Fixed Fehmarnbelt Crossing,” said Vagn Sørensen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Scandlines.
Carsten Nørland is 52 years old and holds a degree in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Before his seven years at Royal Unibrew, he held senior positions and was responsible for international activities at Copenhagen Airports, Flügger, and Masterfoods/MARS Inc.
Carsten Nørland will take up his position on September 1, 2021. Until then, Søren Poulsgaard Jensen will continue his work for Scandlines and will also help ensure a smooth transition for the new CEO by mid-September.
