Jun 14, 2021 at 7:10 PMThe pharmaceutical logistics specialist trans-o-flex supplies schools, kindergartens, authorities, and medical facilities with COVID tests in cooperation with renowned manufacturers. So far, trans-o-flex has delivered over 200 million of these tests in Germany. The express service provider has a comprehensive distribution network across Germany.
(Weinheim) As the reliability of distributing vaccines, COVID tests, and medical supplies has gained increasing importance during the pandemic, the logistics service provider specialized in pharmaceutical transport, trans-o-flex, is experiencing a significant rise in transport orders in the pharmaceutical sector. “The core of the additional demand currently comes from the transport of PCR and rapid tests, which we transport and deliver nationwide on behalf of nearly all renowned manufacturers,” explains Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of trans-o-flex. The company took on its first orders for the distribution of COVID tests a year ago and this week surpassed the mark of 200 million transported test kits. trans-o-flex Express primarily supplies medical facilities, authorities, schools, daycare centers, and the central acceptance points of the federal states. “We are proud to contribute to successfully containing the COVID pandemic with the comprehensive supply of COVID tests alongside vaccine logistics. We are the only provider with actively temperature-controlled transport networks for 2 to 8 and 15 to 25 degrees Celsius and are capable of delivering to any location in Germany in less than 24 hours,” Albeck further states.
Reliable handling of small and large shipments
Renowned manufacturers have chosen to handle the delivery of test kits exclusively through trans-o-flex. “Due to our experience and capabilities, especially in the transport of pharmaceutical products, we are becoming the first choice for more and more companies and public clients when it comes to safely delivering medical or other sensitive products nationwide in accordance with GDP standards (Good Distribution Practice).” Another reason is that trans-o-flex offers the ability to distribute both small packages and large shipments on pallets or entire trucks across an integrated network in the shortest possible time.
Also involved in vaccine logistics
The currently declining infection rates present the CEO of trans-o-flex with the right moment to optimize the supply of the population with COVID tests, vaccines, or masks for future infection waves or new pandemics: “Now is the ideal time to plan the comprehensive supply across the entire federal territory centrally rather than at the state level, so that we are prepared for the fall. This can make vaccine logistics significantly more efficient than before: The administration of the federal states will be relieved, and health insurance companies, not least taxpayers, can save a lot of money.” trans-o-flex has developed and implemented corresponding concepts for decades, for example, for the distribution of flu vaccines. The company is always ready to provide this expertise for building efficient and safe logistics solutions for other vaccines, Albeck concludes.
