Hellmann Contract Logistics Invests in New Zealand for Techtronic

The full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is investing EUR 28 million at Auckland Airport to build a new 19,200 square meter warehouse complex for the international manufacturer of electronic components, Techtronic Industries (TTI). The warehouse, which will be operational in July of this year, is located directly at Auckland Airport and sets new standards in terms of efficiency, flexibility, and functionality.

(Osnabrück/Auckland) From the new warehouse, Hellmann will handle the entire contract logistics fulfillment for its long-standing customer TTI. The new facility meets the latest standards in every respect. The 16,000 square meter high-bay warehouse complex and the 3,200 square meter free-standing canopy allow for the storage of 29,000 pallets at heights of up to 15 meters. Furthermore, the new logistics complex, built according to the guidelines of the New Zealand Green Building Council, meets the latest requirements for sustainable construction.

For example, the complex is column-free and has enhanced floor specifications, allowing for further investments in innovative robotic automation solutions. Grant Edhouse, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of TTI Australia and New Zealand, emphasizes the importance of the new warehouse for the ongoing expansion of his company in New Zealand. “We needed a new facility with a long-term infrastructure for contract logistics to support our future growth,” he says. “The expanded capacity, as well as the operational efficiency and flexibility of the complex, has been specifically designed to sustainably meet TTI’s long-term requirements. By consolidating our activities in the new building complex, we can optimize our supply chains and future-proof them, ultimately benefiting our trading partners and end consumers,” Edhouse continues. “The new warehouse is also a great example of how to integrate truly innovative architecture within a functional industrial building,” Edhouse concludes.
