May 27, 2021 at 6:19 PM(Bolzano) FERCAM Future Labs particularly aims to foster the innovation potential that comes from employees within the company, as well as disruptive ideas from external start-up founders; it does not intend to limit itself solely to early-stage and growth financing, but rather to provide entrepreneurial experience, industry-specific know-how, cooperative collaboration, and a broad network.
Ideally, FERCAM Future Labs invests early in start-ups (Seed/Series A) and preferably acts as a lead or co-lead investor.
Start-up Truckscreenia
One of the first start-up companies that FERCAM Future Labs actively collaborates with is the hardware and software company Truckscreenia, located in the NOI Technopark in Bolzano, whose corporate goal is smarter mobility. The company’s current main project is called Truckscreenia System, a digital and environmentally friendly solution that links synergies between goods and passenger transport and advertising into a unique solution.
FERCAM has already implemented Truckscreenia’s Smart Screens on its vehicle rear ends in Rome, which display not only classic advertising but also dynamic and targeted information in real-time and “on the road” through a georeferenced digital communication system.
Collaboration with Research Institutions
Another essential area of responsibility for FERCAM Future Labs is the promotion of industry-relevant research projects; FERCAM Future Labs will accompany a research project of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR (National Research Council), which focuses on the production of prototypes of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hybrid fuel cell electric vehicles (FCHEV) with range extension. The prototypes will be used for urban goods distribution.
Another project involves the development of electric storage systems for optimal utilization of electricity generated by photovoltaic systems, as well as the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis, using only electricity from renewable sources.
FERCAM Future Labs was founded in March 2021 as a 100% subsidiary of FERCAM AG with the aim of financially and operationally supporting innovative approaches and technological solutions in the field of logistics and transport.
