May 6, 2021 at 6:22 PMIntermodal and climate-friendly: Starting this summer, TFG Transfracht GmbH will integrate Italy, with the economic metropolises of Milan and Verona, into its AlbatrosExpress network for the first time. The services will be carried out in partnership with the operators Kombiverkehr and Optimodal. Additionally, TFG is expanding its offerings to the western ports.
(Hamburg) From July 2021, the AlbatrosExpress network will also extend to Milan and Verona. Up to ten times a week, TFG’s AlbatrosExpress trains will operate between the northern Italian industrial belt and the German seaports, as well as between the western ports. The services to Italy will be conducted in partnership with the operators Kombiverkehr and Optimodal. The Alpine transit by rail has proven to be not only a climate-friendly but also a crisis-resistant alternative in recent months. Furthermore, TFG is responding to the strong growth in container and intermodal traffic at the seaports of Antwerp and Rotterdam.
Thus, TFG connects Regensburg with Rotterdam and Antwerp and expands its daily offerings to the western ports by ten new departures per week. The new western ports portfolio of TFG now includes flexible and high-frequency connections between Regensburg, Nuremberg, Munich, Burghausen, Ludwigshafen, Wolfurt, and the most important container terminals for the maritime sector in Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Also single wagon services
On all routes, in addition to combined transport, single wagon services are offered. With this international setup and a new service offering for the western, northern, and southern ports, TFG is expanding its network and providing its customers with additional international transport solutions every day.
“We are very pleased, especially in this persistently challenging time, to continue to respond to our customers’ demands and offer them an even broader range of intermodal solutions on environmentally friendly rail. Whether western, northern, or southern ports – we provide tailored solutions across six ports, four countries, and 27 terminals,” explains Frank Erschkat, spokesperson for the management of TFG Transfracht.
