(Frankfurt/Paderborn) The goal of Cargo Digital World (CDW), based in Paderborn, is to offer technology-based logistics solutions that set new standards in customer centricity, efficiency, transparency, and sustainability. This was announced by representatives of CargoLine and CDW at a joint press conference. In CDW, CargoLine combines its operational strength with the innovative power and technological expertise of logistics start-ups.
Driving Digital Business Models
“Since 2017, CargoLine has been actively promoting digital business models in logistics, starting with a long-term collaboration with the founding incubator garage33 in Paderborn. Together, we have already created three start-ups. We are now bundling them in Cargo Digital World to optimally support and scale them there. In addition, CDW will develop further innovative logistics solutions, accompany them on their way to market maturity, and scale them. This way, as a medium-sized company, we are significantly shaping the future of the logistics industry,” explained Jörn Peter Struck, Chairman of the CargoLine Management Board.
Three Start-ups Launched
The three start-ups include the digital freight forwarder Cargoboard, which has been successfully offering Europe-wide groupage transport online since April 2019, the TKL brokerage platform CargoNative, which intelligently connects partial and full loads as well as cargo space capacities, and the start-up CargoCast, which improves utilization and resource planning in the transport and logistics industry using artificial intelligence and predictive analytics.

As scouts and market observers, we constantly identify growth opportunities and promising ideas. We connect them, quickly bring them to market maturity together with CargoLine, and scale them,” said Dr. Tim Brühn, Chairman of Cargo Digital World.
Planned Inclusion of Additional Cooperation Partners and Investors
Currently, all shares of CDW are held by CargoLine and its shareholder and partner companies. “But this is not where it ends. Our goal is to make CDW the leading provider of digital logistics services in Europe. Therefore, we want to expand the market position of CDW with additional cooperation partners, start-ups, and strategic investors, especially to prepare medium-sized companies for a dynamically changing environment,” announced Bernd Schäflein, member of the Advisory Board of CargoLine and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Cargo Digital World.
