Apr 22, 2021 at 7:23 PMTX Logistik AG is increasing its train frequency to Northern Italy via the Brenner axis due to increased demand. Starting May 10, the railway logistics company, part of the Mercitalia Group (Gruppo FS Italiane), will operate five round trips per week on the route between Leipzig and Verona, with a stop in Hall (Tyrol), Austria.
(Troisdorf) TX Logistik AG is increasing its train frequency from Leipzig to Northern Italy, specifically to Verona. In June, the connection from Padborg (Denmark) to Verona will also be increased by a seventh round trip per week. The reason for these expansions is the increased demand for rail transport capacity on the Brenner axis.
On the route between Leipzig and Verona, Hall in Tyrol, where the train makes a stop, will also be served five times a week in each direction. TX Logistik not only handles the traction independently but also the marketing of the transport capacities. The train can accommodate up to 32 loading units, including bulk and tank containers, swap bodies, and semi-trailers. The cargo transported on this route includes vehicle parts, valuable materials, recycling and chemical products, as well as consumer goods. In the long term, rail freight traffic between Leipzig and Verona is set to be further expanded.
82 Trains Weekly over the Brenner
In March, the train frequency on the route between Lübeck and Verona was increased from six to seven round trips per week. Including the announced expansions, TX Logistik will then operate 41 round trips or 82 trains per week on the North-South axis over the Brenner, making it one of the leading providers.
In the intermodal network, Verona is one of the most important hubs for TX Logistik. Currently, the railway logistics company regularly connects a total of five locations in Germany as well as Padborg in Denmark with the northern Italian economic region. The start and end points in Italy are the Quadrante Europa terminals and Sommacampagna-Sona, located slightly west of Verona.
