Apr 7, 2021 at 3:56 PMThe global demand for oxygen has risen sharply during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through its international presence, the HOYER Group makes an important contribution to the infrastructural support of hospitals and medical facilities. The logistics company flexibly provides tank container equipment for global use and takes on transport services.
(Hamburg) HOYER has many years of expertise in the transport and handling of liquefied and compressed gases. Each product has specific requirements – all share high safety standards throughout the entire logistics chain to ensure consistent product quality as well as the protection of people and the environment. The importance of timely delivery of some of these products is highlighted by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic: Worldwide, the demand for medical oxygen has rapidly increased. For its transport, HOYER maintains close communication with its customers regarding supply situations and has, for example, trained additional drivers specifically for the product in the European business. This enables the logistics provider to reliably and safely manage even short-term supply peaks – in certified quality.
Time as a Critical Factor
When delivering medical oxygen, time is a critical factor – as is the global availability of the appropriate equipment. In both areas, HOYER demonstrates high flexibility: A specialist team from the company arranged for the provision of three oxygen tank containers to be transported by air freight from Europe to South America in just two days. Many of these containers have been deployed on short notice in Brazil, Chile, and Peru. Even in critical demand situations in Europe, HOYER is a strong and reliable partner, supporting the supply of hospitals and medical facilities with oxygen – among others in the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Croatia – by providing equipment and organizing intermodal transports to Eastern Europe. Additionally, tank container deliveries to Southern Europe have enabled regions in Africa to be supplied.
Also Dry Ice Transport
There is also an increasing demand in dry ice logistics – the product is used, among other things, for Covid-19 vaccines that require appropriate cooling. HOYER conducts dry ice transports throughout Europe punctually and safely. “Dry ice is a highly volatile product and must be handled quickly but safely,” says Anna Krüger, Head of Business Development Gas at the HOYER Group. “We can rely on our many years of expertise, flexibility, and our extensive network of product-specific trained drivers.”
Thanks to the globally available tank container fleet, specialist know-how, and intensive international networking, HOYER is a flexible, strong partner for the provision of equipment and the execution of safe transport services for gases.
