The new vehicles are tailored to the requirements of the DIY store operator and are equipped with the latest safety technology.
(Stuttgart/Bornheim) Just rolled off the production line at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth and already in use: Hornbach Baumarkt AG relies on proven quality from Mercedes-Benz for the expansion of its truck fleet. Several vehicles from the Actros and Atego series are already on the road for the DIY and gardening company – this year they will receive a total of 34 additional Mercedes-Benz Actros of the latest generation. Dr. Matthias Jurytko, Head of Site and Production at the Wörth plant, recently handed over the first vehicles at the customer center of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth to representatives from Hornbach, Andreas Back, Head of Quality Management & Environment, and Dominic Bendel, Customer Logistics Germany.
Adjustment of the Logistics Concept for Customer Delivery
The growing Hornbach Group is currently adjusting its logistics concept for customer delivery and significantly expanding its own fleet in this process. The truck fleet of the DIY specialist mainly consists of vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz brand. With the latest generation of Actros, additional trucks are now being added that are tailored to the special requirements of the internationally operating company: The Actros 2545L, equipped with a construction platform and crane, as well as the Actros 1833L with curtainsider and retractable loading platform for easier loading and unloading. Both models feature the unique MirrorCam, which operates with digital cameras and displays instead of conventional exterior mirrors, as well as an interactive multimedia cockpit. In addition, the vehicles are equipped with the latest assistance and safety systems, such as Active Brake Assist 5, Predictive Powertrain Control, and turning, lane-keeping, and distance assistants.
