Jan 30, 2021 at 5:42 PMFunke Logistics GmbH is making national postal issues a top priority starting February 1. The logistics management will now directly oversee this area. The aim is to enhance local presence. The logistics managers will be responsible for the regional postal business. The largest unit of Funke Post in Thuringia will continue to have its own managing director.
(Essen) Funke is further strengthening its postal business as a key pillar of the logistics sector: Due to the steadily growing relevance in recent months, the management of the national postal sector will be directly taken over from February 1 by the management of Funke Logistics, Frank Jansen and Andreas Erzkamp. The respective regional logistics managers will be operationally responsible for the regional postal business, with one exception: Funke Post Thuringia, by far the largest postal unit of Funke, will continue to have its own management. Additionally, effective February 1, Norbert Schmid will be appointed as another managing director of Funke Post Thuringia alongside Roy Thelemann.
Postal Delivery Grows Strongly
“Postal delivery is one of the fastest-growing areas of our Funke Logistics. With the new structure, we can better address both the national and regional markets,” emphasizes Frank Jansen. The consolidation of responsibility for the regional postal business and classic delivery logistics provides Funke with significant advantages in the regions: In addition to synergies in delivery and shorter decision-making paths, customers will now have only one fixed contact person on-site. “This allows us to target our current and future customers more effectively. We are now truly the Funke Post on-site,” emphasizes Frank Jansen. Ingo Blank, who had previously been responsible for the national postal business, is leaving Funke with the completion of the new organizational structure. “We owe a great debt of gratitude to Ingo Blank. He has made crucial contributions to the continuous expansion of the business,” says Frank Jansen. Photo: © Funke Post www.funke-post.de www.funke-logistik.de
