To provide exhibitors with planning security, the organizer, EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, has decided to move the upcoming fair to the date of March 8 to 10, 2022. The organizer is working on a digital concept so that visitors and exhibitors can also meet virtually in 2021.
(Munich) The LogiMAT – International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management will not take place as planned from June 22 to 24, 2021, due to the ongoing difficult Corona situation. The organizer, EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, feels compelled to postpone the LogiMAT to the date of March 8 to 10, 2022, due to the current infection rates and the unclear vaccination situation, as well as the associated movement restrictions.
End of travel restrictions not in sight
“An end to the travel restrictions, as they currently exist, is not in sight due to the vaccination situation and mutations. We must respond to this in a timely manner. Our exhibitors need planning security, which is not currently given,” explains Michael Ruchty, exhibition director of LogiMAT, Stuttgart. “Whether the in-person event in June could take place in full is unclear from today’s perspective. The exhibitors wish for an in-person event, but if we ultimately have to do without important international participants, that is not in the interest of all parties involved. We must do everything we can to meet the legitimate expectations of exhibitors and visitors on site. A further postponement of 2 to 3 months would be neither sensible nor feasible. Ultimately, we also decided on the March date in 2022 to return to the usual LogiMAT rhythm in the first quarter, as explicitly requested by many exhibitors.”
The organizer is currently working on a digital communication and information platform to create an opportunity to digitally network exhibitors and visitors in 2021 as well.
Digital event planned as a substitute in 2021
“In addition to exciting and high-profile presentations, as well as an opportunity for our exhibitors to present their products and solutions, intelligent matchmaking is at the forefront,” explains Peter Kazander, managing director of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH. The organizer aims to bridge the gap until the next in-person fair in March 2022 with the digital solution and to meet its primary task of bringing exhibitors and visitors together in a contemporary manner.
