DPD Launches a Mobility Hub in Berlin with ONO, Swobbee, and Sprint
Jan 20, 2021 at 6:20 PMThe robotics company Magazino extends its robot demo tour 2021. This is an alternative way to introduce potential customers to new technologies, such as the robot TORU. The demand for these roadshows is high. The show will be offered in Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Poland.
(Munich) Due to high demand, the German robotics company Magazino is extending its Europe-wide roadshow into the first half of 2021. The tour offers interested companies in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom a product demonstration in their own warehouse with the mobile picking robot TORU. New technologies such as intelligent robots help e-commerce and 3PL companies reduce picking and process costs.
Despite recently launched vaccination campaigns against the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still unclear when larger events such as trade fairs or conferences will be possible again. As a result, the usual venues for companies to explore new technologies and innovations are still missing. Therefore, Magazino decided to start a Europe-wide demo tour to bring the robot TORU directly into the warehouses of potential customers for trial. The autonomous robot TORU picks and transports items such as shoe boxes in e-commerce warehouses and works side by side with human colleagues.
Impressed by the quick commissioning
One of the companies participating in the demo tour is the shoe manufacturer Berkemann from Thuringia. Romina Regener, Head of Supply Chain at Berkemann, says: “We were impressed by the short time span from the arrival of the Magazino team to the first pick of a shoe box by the robot the next morning. We are convinced that flexible and scalable automation is a crucial part of our future growth in e-commerce. It was particularly helpful for us to see the system working in our own warehouse infrastructure. Video conferences can replace many business meetings, but nothing beats a product demonstration that you can attend in person.”
Julia Scholz, responsible Sales Manager at Magazino, says: “Showing an autonomous robotic system in the warehouse of a potential customer builds trust and insights for both sides. This is a unique approach in the industry so far. We are proud that our robot TORU was able to start picking shoe boxes in all visited warehouses in less than 24 hours.”
A workshop takes place parallel to the assembly
While the robot is being set up in the warehouse by a Magazino engineer on the first day of the visit, a workshop is held in parallel to evaluate the current warehouse processes and define possible improvements through the use of TORU. On the second day, all relevant stakeholders can experience the robot live in the existing warehouse environment while working autonomously. Questions can thus be discussed directly on-site by both sides.
Interested companies are invited to contact Magazino for the remaining tour slots in 2021. Depending on the current and local situation of the pandemic, Magazino will enable a two-day visit while adhering to the highest hygiene standards.
