He succeeds Christian Coolsaet, who has been Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland since September 1. Ström comes from PEMA, where he was also Managing Director for Germany and simultaneously served as Vice President of the TIP Central Region.
(Ismaning) Peter Ström comes from PEMA GmbH, where he was Managing Director in Germany and also Vice President of the TIP Central Region. The native Swede brings extensive management experience. He held senior positions in sales and marketing at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and was Managing Director for Mercedes-Benz CharterWay. He was also responsible as European Commercial Director at GE Commercial Finance.
Germany is the most competitive market
“As a Swede, taking over the management of Volvo Trucks in my chosen home Germany makes me proud. Germany is the most competitive market in Europe. Being able to actively shape things here is a challenge that I gladly accept. With the recently introduced new vehicles and an already successful team, we will continue to advance Volvo Trucks,” Peter Ström is confident. Peter Ström has long had a good business relationship with Volvo Trucks, as PEMA GmbH, one of the leading independent rental companies for heavy commercial vehicles in Europe, also has numerous Volvo Trucks in its fleet of 20,000 units.
15 years in the commercial vehicle industry
Peter Ström was born in Sweden in 1963 and holds a degree in law and business administration. He has lived in Germany since 2000 and has worked for 15 years in the German and European commercial vehicle industry. He succeeds Christian Coolsaet, who has been Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland since September 1. Peter Ström will be part of the management team for Europe North & Central and will report to Anna Müller, SVP Volvo Trucks Europe North & Central. Until Peter Ström takes office, Charlotte Olofsson, Chief Financial Officer of Volvo Trucks in Germany, has been leading the business on an interim basis.
