(Osnabrück) The globally operating full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is launching SmartAir! a new tracking tool for real-time tracking of air freight shipments. Together with the Bonn-based startup BlueBox Systems, Hellmann developed a web-based platform based on the product AirVision, which provides customers with comprehensive information about their air freight shipments at a glance, regardless of airline, route, or shipment type. With this innovation, Hellmann fills a gap in live tracking of transports and takes a pioneering role in the logistics industry at a time of increasingly tight schedules in global supply chains.
Information on Stopovers and Loading Times
Based on GPS coordinates, SmartAir! provides live tracking of shipments with information about all stopovers and loading times. Additionally, the system offers numerous analytical possibilities regarding the performance of individual airlines, routes, and airports: Which departure airport has the fewest delays? Which airlines are the most reliable? This information enables quick and easy evaluation of providers and routes, thus creating the conditions for optimizing supply chain management.Thus, Hellmann completes its product range for shipment tracking and can now offer a tailored tracking solution for every mode of transport: Smart Ocean for sea freight, SmartAir! for air freight, and the universally applicable Smart Visibility Trackers. These not only capture tracking data but also extensive information on humidity, temperature, light exposure, vibration, and door openings, thus enabling detailed transport control of shipments.

“SmartAir! is a true novelty in the tracking of air freight shipments, which has not existed on the market so far. In times of digitalization and increasingly smaller time windows for decisions, quickly available real-time data within global supply chains is becoming increasingly important.
