(Grewen) – GREIWING logistics for you GmbH has acquired Separation AG based in Eynatten, Belgium, as of October 1st. The company specializes in opto-electronic sorting of plastic granulates and has been established in the market for 20 years. GREIWING’s range of services complements Separation AG in that it enables sorting and selecting of granulates directly at the customer’s site. Mobile “granulate clinics” developed by the company are used for this purpose.
“Our goal is to always be where our customers need us. Therefore, we are very pleased to now offer on-site screening and sorting as well as dedusting and demetalizing of granulates in addition to our existing services,” says Jürgen Greiwing, Managing Partner of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH.
State-of-the-art process technologies for inclusive quality control
In light of the high demand, GREIWING has specialized in plastic logistics since the turn of the millennium. As part of this, the family-owned company has established the Granulate Technology Center in Wesel, which features automated color measurement and sorting systems for plastic granulates and through which all handling services can be managed. Today, the logistics specialist, headquartered in Greven, provides numerous services beyond the mere transport of powders and granulates, which until recently were still performed by further processing companies or the manufacturers themselves. The latest process technologies are employed in this regard. The range extends from transport and storage to sorting and screening, as well as drying and homogenizing. Furthermore, GREIWING packages or repackages the granulates and checks their quality.
Containers equipped with filling systems and testing laboratories
With the acquisition of the Belgian Separation AG, GREIWING is now expanding its range of services in this area to include mobile solutions. The systems of Separation AG, installed in 20-foot refrigerated containers, can be deployed quickly and flexibly at almost any location. Specifically developed for plastic-specific sorting tasks, the systems can be fed with material from containers or operated autonomously under a silo. A calibrated filling system and a testing laboratory are also onboard. This way, even small quantities can be economically processed.
Just like at the GREIWING Granulate Technology Center in Wesel, the selection is carried out using opto-electronic and mechanical separation processes. This achieves demonstrably the highest purity levels and qualities. There will be no changes for the existing customers of Separation AG due to the acquisition. Both the brand and the existing workforce will remain intact. “Separation AG is an established brand that we want to maintain in the future. Therefore, the primary goal of the acquisition is to leverage synergies on both sides,” Greiwing adds.
