Olaf Schabirosky Named TRATON Logistics Leader of the Year 2020

During the reception, the TRATON Logistics Leader of the Year Award will also be presented. It goes to Olaf Schabirosky, CEO of Hermes Germany. The native Hamburger is honored as a “modernizer and change manager” who has helped the parcel service provider achieve a group revenue increase of 9.0 percent in the past fiscal year through the consistent expansion of infrastructure and the last mile, as well as innovative digitalization projects. The company, which is part of the Otto Group and employs around 5,000 people, benefited from his measures even during the lockdown phase of 2020. The logistics network never failed. Despite a volume increase of about 40 percent in April, Hermes was able to maintain a consistently high delivery quality: More than 90 percent of all shipments were delivered the next day. Thanks to the digitalization initiative, a task force led by the 52-year-old manager was able to develop and implement a digital solution for contactless delivery within 48 hours.
Pacesetters and Future Makers
With this award, the organization honors the pacesetters and future makers of logistics. Entrepreneurs and managers from the transport and logistics sector who have recently made particularly successful contributions to their companies or set a groundbreaking impulse are recognized. The focus is on relevance and benefit to the company, as well as innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurial change. The award is presented by the Logistics Hall of Fame and sponsored by TRATON SE.
