Sep 19, 2020 at 6:57 PMSSI Schäfer equips the central warehouse of the Austrian fashion and sports provider Kastner & Öhler. The new equipment enables shorter delivery times and an increase in efficiency in order processing amid rising online business. The completion of the project is already planned for mid-October 2020.
(Neunkirchen/Sieg) Kastner & Öhler, one of the largest fashion and sports providers in Austria, has commissioned SSI Schäfer to equip its central warehouse in Graz. A flexibly expandable solution is being implemented, which will enable shorter delivery times and a significant increase in efficiency in order processing for the growing online business.
With innovation and quality, the family-owned company Kastner & Öhler, founded in 1873, has gained international significance in the fashion world and has also established itself as a leading sports provider under the Gigasport brand. It is the largest fashion and sports company in Austrian ownership, with its headquarters and central warehouse in Graz. The company has a total of 33 locations in Styria, Carinthia, Burgenland, and Upper Austria, as well as two outlets in Graz. Through the Kastner & Öhler and Gigasport online shop, customers can access a wide range of products in their respective areas. With the new shipping solution, over 10,000 shipments can be processed per day.
Efficient Shipping Processing in the Shipping Business
Large online providers have relied on the products and solutions from SSI Schäfer for years. In the central warehouse of Kastner & Öhler in Graz, St. Peter, modern intralogistics will ensure efficient shipping processing for the e-commerce business – the best conditions to meet the increasing demand in the long term. Further scaling steps can be easily implemented through already planned expansion phases.
The decision to award the contract to SSI Schäfer was reinforced by the fact that the intralogistics expert can supply the project locally with the necessary solution components from its location in the northern part of Graz. Within the logistics concept, efficiency and flexibility were convincing, as well as the ergonomic factor, which plays a significant role in the design of the shipping workstations.
The completion and commissioning of the project is already planned for mid-October 2020, just in time for Black Friday and Christmas shopping. This will also achieve short delivery times and a positive customer experience even with higher shipping volumes.
