Aug 27, 2020 at 7:00 AMThe 24plus freight cooperation is partnering with Bavaria TransCon in Munich. A phased system partnership is planned, connecting to the regional hub in Southern Germany by September 1, 2020, and linking to the central hub at the beginning of the coming year.
(Haueneck-Unterhaun) The 24plus freight cooperation is changing its partner for the greater Munich area. The Bavarian TransCon Logistic GmbH in Olching will replace the Kirchheim branch of Rhenus Freight Logistics GmbH & Co. KG, which has previously served as a service provider for 24plus. The transition will occur in two phases. By September 1, 2020, Bavarian TransCon will connect to the 24plus regional hub in Southern Germany in Ludwigsburg, utilizing the slot that Rhenus Freight Logistics GmbH & Co. KG has not previously utilized. At the beginning of the new year 2021, Bavarian TransCon will also connect to the 24plus central hub in Hauneck. Simultaneously, Rhenus Freight Logistics in Kirchheim will exit the 24plus network.
New Company Fills a Vacuum
Bavarian TransCon Logistic GmbH is a new establishment by the two experienced freight forwarders Andreas Krebs and Günter Frauenknecht. Their joint venture commenced operations in July 2019 and has developed rapidly since then, even during the Corona times. “Munich is a challenging market for freight forwarding services,” explains Managing Director Günter Frauenknecht regarding the circumstances of the company’s founding. “With high rents and personnel costs and low shipment volumes, more and more freight forwarders are withdrawing from the freight business in Munich. Therefore, with the founding of our forwarding company, we have stepped into a vacuum.” Bavarian TransCon has a modern logistics facility in Olching with 2,500 square meters of transshipment area and an office building with over 300 square meters. The transport services in local and long-distance traffic are provided by established transport companies. 24plus Managing Director Stefan Rehmet is pleased with the development in Munich: “We are replacing a service provider in two steps with a highly committed system partner who wants to grow with us.”
