In line with our ‘Mission 2050 – Zero Emissions,’ we are already able to fully offset emissions and offer certified climate neutrality for all Eurapid shipments.”
DHL Freight Eurapid Goes Green
The backbone of DHL Freight Eurapid is the international Freight Euroconnect network: With more than 2,000 transport connections across Europe, the network represents a seamless and cost-efficient door-to-door service. As part of the innovations at Eurapid, DHL Freight can now offer its customers fully climate-neutral transport. The green option is automatically included and available at no additional cost in all services. The CO2 emissions generated for the handling and transport of a shipment, including upstream emissions for energy supply, are calculated using a verified measurement method. To offset these emissions, CO2 certificates from recognized climate protection projects are purchased, which reduce CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. DHL Freight aims to contribute to certified climate neutrality along the customer’s supply chain with this initiative. The certification is based on the criteria of the “Clean Development Mechanism” of the Kyoto Protocol and meets CDM standards and/or carries the “Gold Standard” or “Voluntary Carbon Standard” in combination with “The Climate, Community and Biodiversity Project Design Standards.” The supported projects can be categorized into energy efficiency, renewable energies, and afforestation/reforestation and are selected in close collaboration with reliable partners such as Climate Partner and Climate Bridge.
