Here are the new trainees and students from the companies Torwegge, Greiwing logistics for you, L.I.T., LIS, GLS Germany, Paul Vahle, and Hapag-Lloyd. Different companies with different services and products also contribute to diverse and varied knowledge among the learners.
Torwegge
(Bielefeld) Two new trainees started their professional careers today (August 3) at Torwegge GmbH & Co. KG. Despite the turbulent year caused by the Corona pandemic, the Bielefeld intralogistics specialist is sticking to its plans for promoting young talent. The two recent school graduates are beginning their training in wholesale and foreign trade management as well as in warehouse logistics. This brings the total number of trainees at Torwegge to six.

Greiwing logistics for you
(Duisburg/Greven/Raunheim/Worms) Greiwing logistics for you GmbH welcomes 17 new trainees this year. Today, 13 of them had their first day at the locations in Duisburg, Greven, Raunheim, and Worms, while the four trainees in Burghausen and Leipheim will start on September 1. The young people are learning six professions: electronics technician for operational technology, IT specialist for system integration, warehouse logistics specialist, warehouse logistics clerk, merchant for freight forwarding and logistics services, and automotive mechatronics technician. Additionally, the logistics service provider has filled a dual study position in the field of computer science.

L.I.T.
(Brake) With 29 newly hired young professionals, the L.I.T. Group is defying the industry-wide negative trend of declining trainee numbers and is also maintaining the internal record set last year. 17 aspiring merchants for freight forwarding and logistics services, six warehouse logistics specialists, three professional drivers, one business management clerk, and one IT specialist in application development and system integration are starting their training today with the logistics specialist. To protect everyone’s health, L.I.T. has taken special precautions during the Corona year.

LIS
(Greven) Four IT trainees started their professional careers today at LIS Logistische Informationssysteme AG. The two aspiring IT specialists for application development, as well as one IT systems merchant and one IT specialist for system integration, experienced a largely normal introduction day thanks to extensive preparation and appropriate hygiene regulations. All training positions had already been filled by LIS at the beginning of the year, and a former intern is among the new professionals. The Greven software manufacturer now employs a total of 15 trainees and dual students.

GLS Germany
(Neuenstein) Young professionals at GLS Germany: The parcel service provider welcomes its new trainees, dual students, and annual interns in August and September. GLS Germany is offering a total of 111 training and dual study positions this year. Training is provided in the professions of KEP specialist, warehouse logistics specialist, IT specialist for system integration, merchant for freight forwarding and logistics services, office management, e-commerce, computer science, or courier, express, and postal services. GLS hires dual students for either the applied computer science or logistics management programs.

(Kamen) Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG welcomed 14 new trainees at the start of the new training year yesterday. Despite the Corona crisis, the company from Kamen is sticking to its plans for promoting young talent. However, due to the applicable contact restrictions, the introduction days are taking place under special conditions. The group started their first working day in two phases. Additionally, many presentations and event contents are being conducted digitally. For the 14 positions, the popular training company, known as a hidden champion in the field of energy and data transmission, received around 250 applications during the Corona year.

Hapag Lloyd
This week, 68 young colleagues are beginning their maritime careers at Hapag-Lloyd in Hamburg. Some of the trainees will learn traditional nautical professions: 14 ship mechanics, 14 nautical officer assistants, and three technical officer assistants will be trained as seafarers. Another 25 trainees will learn land-based professions such as shipping merchant or office management merchant. All trainees had their first day at Hapag-Lloyd on August 3, 2020.
Another 14 ship mechanics began their training earlier this year and are now embarking on their first journey with the “Chicago Express.” The 8,600 TEU ship is one of two training vessels at Hapag-Lloyd and is currently sailing in the Atlantic Loop 6 (AL6) from Southern Europe to the US East Coast. Additionally, Hapag-Lloyd supports twelve dual students at the Hamburg School of Business Administration and at the Nordakademie, who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Management, Logistics Management, and Business Informatics.
