There is an easy connection for small and large online shops. The processing takes place through a flexible online portal that can be easily configured. (Amsterdam) With a new returns solution, GLS simplifies the cross-border handling of return packages for online shops of any size and their customers. For this purpose, GLS offers a flexible online portal that can be individually configured and branded.
With return rates ranging from 10 to as much as 70 percent, it is essential to offer online shops and their customers uncomplicated and efficient return solutions. Especially in the cross-border area, such solutions have not yet been the standard, even though convenient returns are a significant purchasing criterion for online shoppers. Moreover, smaller online shops have so far shied away from the associated effort.
Convenient for Shops and Shoppers
GLS now presents a flexible returns solution that enables both national and cross-border returns within Europe, is flexibly configurable – optionally in the design of the online shop – and can be integrated into existing processes with minimal effort.
“An efficient returns solution is an important success factor for the development of e-commerce business in many industries,” says Saadi Al-Soudani, Group International MD at GLS. “We are proud to offer our export customers not only fast and reliable shipping across Europe but also an easily integrable solution for handling returns with the new GLS returns portal.”
Online Shoppers Also Benefit
Online shoppers also benefit from the new solution: In the returns portal, they can generate their shipping labels themselves. The labels are available for download online or are automatically sent via email. Returners from Germany can also print the label directly at the GLS PaketShop using a QR code. Possible drop-off points for returns are already displayed to the user in the portal based on their address.
The returns processing can also be fully carried out on the online shop’s website, as the portal allows an interface to the GLS system via so-called APIs.
Currently, the new returns solution can be used for returns from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, and Hungary. Further countries such as the United Kingdom and Spain are currently being integrated.
