Jul 1, 2020 at 7:15 AMThrough their collaboration, Gebrüder Weiss and Sika Austria achieve precise delivery to the construction site. Providing the estimated time of arrival (ETA) increases planning security for Sika customers and simplifies communication.
(Lauterach) Time on construction sites is limited, and deadlines are usually tight. Reliable and quick information about the delivery status of ordered materials is essential for successful project planning. Sika Austria, a leading manufacturer of chemical building materials, can now offer this service to its customers unrestrictedly through the digital platform of Gebrüder Weiss. “This not only saves time but also overall improves the quality of communication. We can provide our customers with immediate and reliable information. They can then react quickly and correctly if, for example, delivery dates change, thus having more planning security on the construction sites,” says Robert Bernhard, Head of Supply Chain & Logistics at Sika Österreich GmbH. All process-relevant information is available online in real-time. With a mouse click, order and shipment status can be determined, as well as the estimated time of arrival of a delivery (Estimated Time of Arrival / ETA). Shipment status can be shared directly with the Sika customer on the construction site via a link.
Improved Communication and High Planning Security
Another advantage for Sika: The entire communication history for a transport is clearly and seamlessly represented in the digital Gebrüder Weiss platform. Every process participant has the same level of knowledge, eliminating duplicate inquiries or lengthy follow-up questions. The introduction of the ETA function is part of Gebrüder Weiss’s digitalization strategy. In the coming months, the company will launch additional digital services. The customer portal myGW, which encompasses the individual features, will be officially launched later this year.
