(Neuenstein) Investment in electromobility: The parcel service provider GLS Germany has installed four charging stations for electric vehicles at its headquarters. This month, GLS Germany has put four charging stations for electric vehicles into operation in the visitor and employee parking lots at its headquarters in Neuenstein, Hesse. The stations can be used by employees as well as all visitors, customers, suppliers, and applicants. Usage is free of charge, and the electricity used comes exclusively from renewable energy sources.
There are seven charging points available, each with a charging capacity of 22 kilowatts of alternating current. All vehicles with a Type 2 connector, which most commercially available models have, can charge there. The manufacturer and installation partner of the charging stations with dynamic load management is ELEXON GmbH from Aachen, which has successfully implemented various charging infrastructure projects as a general contractor with GLS.
“Investments in e-mobility are an important part of our GLS KlimaProtect program,” says Anne Putz, Head of Communication & Marketing at GLS. “On the one hand, we are expanding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in our depots. At the same time, we are now also providing our employees, customers, and visitors at our headquarters with the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles.”
