Jun 23, 2020 at 8:00 AMPost Executive Peter Umundum invited to a small reception at the headquarters of the Austrian Post to maintain exchange even in times of crisis. Various ambassadors have accepted the invitation.
(Vienna) In order to facilitate professional exchange despite the challenges of COVID-19, DI Peter Umundum, Executive Board Member of the Austrian Post for Parcel & Logistics and President of the VEF since March, invited last Friday to a small reception at the headquarters of the Post.
Numerous ambassadors from member countries as well as board members of the VEF followed the invitation to the Post and exchanged views on the overall economic situation and trade relations. Ambassadors from Bulgaria, Kosovo, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, as well as from Montenegro and Turkey were represented.
“Especially in such challenging times, we must not neglect the common exchange; a lively exchange and coming together is needed, just as the Vienna Economic Forum has been implementing since its inception. The reception was not only used for personal conversations, but we were also able to discuss the further path and direction of the forum,” said Peter Umundum.

The VEF aims to make investment opportunities in the region between the Adriatic and the Black Sea more attractive and to promote them. Since its founding in April 2004, economic cooperation between companies from the member countries – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Austria, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine – has successfully developed.
In 2011, the VEF was granted the status of an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO), and in 2012, it was granted special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
