Jun 5, 2020 at 6:42 AMAs in the previous year, the career Institute & Verlag awarded the parcel service provider GLS Germany as the industry winner in the category of Transport, Traffic, and Logistics. The study examines the recruiting quality of large companies based on more than 240 scientific criteria.
(Neuenstein) This year, the study considered more than 400 of the largest employers in Germany. Among the tested companies in Transport, Traffic, and Logistics, GLS again secured first place – ahead of several well-known players in the industry – and received the Best Recruiters seal in gold. In the overall ranking, GLS achieved fourth place. The comprehensive evaluation criteria used to determine the winners were developed by the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Innovative Recruiting
The success of GLS is attributed to many modern approaches in recruitment. For example, last year, video recruiting was introduced, allowing job candidates to present themselves through a portrait or in an interview. As part of the employer branding campaign “We are GLS,” the image film “Path of the Package” showcased to applicants the diverse job profiles behind the scenes of parcel logistics.
In addition, GLS has implemented recruiting measures with innovative external presence, such as at trade fairs and job fairs, organized strategy workshops, and continuously and interactively developed its own career page. The recruiters at GLS are continuously trained according to a clearly defined process to stay attuned to the needs of applicants and to effectively utilize the latest recruiting tools.
“We are a growth industry with various job profiles and continuously need good, motivated employees with potential,” says Martin Seidenberg, CEO of GLS Germany. “Therefore, professional and innovative recruitment is a top priority for us.”
Due to the Corona pandemic, the study results were announced online this year. GLS participated in the online award ceremony with its own video contribution. The video can be viewed on YouTube.
