Mar 20, 2020 at 7:42 PMThe Goods Transport Center (GVZ) JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven has achieved 16th place in the ranking published today by the German GVZ Association (DGG), marking its first entry into the TOP 20 of European goods transport centers (6th place in Germany and 1st in Lower Saxony).
(Wilhelmshaven) The third ranking of goods transport centers, conducted by the DGG every five years, provides important insights into the world of European GVZ locations and has focused on around 200 sites. “The successful ranking reflects the steadily growing interest in the GVZ areas,” commented Michael Moehlmann, Sales Manager of the Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort Marketing Company. The study primarily focused on the member countries of the European GVZ umbrella organization “Europlatforms,” which has accompanied the study for the first time. The countries include Germany, Finland, Italy, Austria, Poland, Spain, and Hungary. For the evaluation of the locations, 15 element groups were formed, which included 38 evaluation criteria, such as aspects of sustainability, digitalization topics, intermodality, land perspectives, or the commitment and competence of the responsible management company. The aim of the performance comparison is to gain valuable new insights for the further development of GVZ in Germany and Europe.
