Mar 5, 2020 at 7:46 PMThe logistics service provider Alpensped from Mannheim is celebrating a significant anniversary: for 10 years, this medium-sized family business has been committed to sustainability in all areas and considers itself a pioneer, especially in climate protection.
(Mannheim, 05.03.2020) Founded in 1993, Alpensped GmbH has made a clear statement in its anniversary year by compensating 10 percent of all transport emissions. For 2019, this means that 1,736 tons of CO2e were offset retroactively, which represents an increase of more than 100 percent compared to the previous year.
Since 2011, the Alpensped management has been climate-neutral and has been compensating part of its transport services through climate protection projects from myclimate since 2015. This year, Alpensped employees chose the project “Less Deforestation of Rainforests Thanks to Efficient Cookers in Kenya”.
And Alpensped has further ambitious goals to reduce the impact of economic trade on the environment. “We want to take our customers along on this path of continuous CO2 reduction and compensation,” says Managing Director Christian Faggin. He reveals that preparations for implementation are currently in full swing. The company’s goal is to be climate-neutral by 2025.
Through the shipment-related CO2 footprint (TCF) developed and certified in 2012, which is indicated on every invoice, Alpensped has already raised awareness among its customers and taken them on the green path. In 2019, Alpensped transported an impressive 63,580, showing that sustainability already carries weight.
