Chennai hosts first International Ports Conclave
The International Association of Ports and Harbours (Iaph) recently attended the first International Ports Conclave on the Chennai campus of the Indian Maritime University. The event, entitled "Ports and Terminals: Crisis and Disaster Management - Policies and Strategies," featured discussions on applying UN sustainability goals and enhancing port resilience.
Distinguished guests included T. K. Ramachandran from the ministry of ports, shipping and waterways, and the consul general of Belgium. Activities comprised a port endeavor gameplay session, panel discussions on crisis management, and contributions from international port experts. The conclave emphasised collaboration and resilience strategies in the maritime sector, engaging both professionals and students in meaningful dialogue. (pb)
